Boiler Replacement for pharma Client
Our client based in the Pharma sector wanted to increase their existing 320kg/hr steam generation capacity to a level capable of meeting current and future site steam and LPHW loads. The strategy adopted by the customer was to install two new steam boilers running in a duty/assist arrangement to supply the process steam load with the LPHW load via a steam/LPHW heat exchanger.
Following a detailed load study, two 2,000kgs/hr steam boilers running in duty/assist mode were identified to meet the current and future process steam and LPHW demands. Furthermore, an energy study was done to estimate the energy efficiency of the new steam plant. These load and energy studies were presented to the customer and agreed before the detailed design phase commenced.
A P&ID of the proposed boiler installation was next prepared and a site survey carried out. Following sign off of the P&ID, detailed layout drawings in 2D and 3D were prepared, together with equipment lists, equipment datasheets and line lists. In addition, a boiler control requirements specification was prepared. Finally, General and Particular tender documents we reproduced covering mechanical, electrical and civils works.
The load study, detailed design and tender documents were all produced and approved within the ten week timeframe, allowing the customer to start tendering in accordance with their planned due date.
