Malone Group awarded contract from Hamilton Renewable Power Inc.

Burlington, ON November 26, 2019.  Malone Group, a specialist engineering and project company located in Burlington, ON headquartered in Dublin, Ireland has been awarded a contract by Hamilton Renewable Power Inc. a subsidiary entity of the City of Hamilton to investigate the use of sustainable and environmentally friendly solutions to remove CO2 from their landfill gas plant emissions.  Our experience in process, utilities and control & automation in operational environments makes us an ideal partner.  Steve Thompson, President Malone Group North America, states “We are excited to work on this CO2 removal project and the opportunity to bring it into other industry sectors and applications across Canada”.

In delivering this project we will work with Pond Technologies, located in Markham, ON. Pond is a technology company that provides profitable solutions to the global health and wellness challenges of climate change and nutrition. Steve Martin, CEO of Pond Technologies, states “We are very excited to be a part of this project which will transform emissions to valuable, sustainable protein. Hamilton is leading by example towards making Ontario a global leader in carbon capture and utilization technology.” 

Rom D’Angelo, President of Hamilton Renewable Power Inc. and Director of Energy, Fleet and Facilities Management at the City of Hamilton states, “with the recent declaration of emergency climate change announced early this year by Hamilton City Council, this feasibility study puts into action our contribution in reducing greenhouse gases at the landfill site while creating a by-product that will pay dividends to the company. We anticipate this opportunity will generate new revenue streams making this project both environmentally and financially a sustainable solution to the community.”
